Description:

Emergency Repairs which restored vehicular access to Ft Myers Beach, via Bonita Springs, in unprecedented time and ahead of schedule. Fort Myers Beach Emergency Access work via Bonita Springs consisted of repair to four separate bridges. Work included the jacking and resetting of existing beams that had been displaced as a result of storm surge, replacement of bearing pads, scour repairs to reset and ensure integrity of existing bridge piling, reconstruction of approach slabs, structural grouting of the existing bridge abutments and approaches and new slope protection.
Work also included MOT, guardrail, signing, asphalt paving and roadway striping to ensure functionality and safety. Work was completed in four (4) days, ahead of schedule. Prior to completion of the work, the only access was via the very congested Matanzas Pass Bridge to the north.

Hurricane Ian Emergency Repairs: Pine Island

Description:

Emergency Repairs which restored vehicular access to Pine Island in unprecedented time and ahead of schedule. Pine Island emergency work to restore access included full demolition and reconstruction of the approach slabs at the Matlacha Pass and Pine Island Bridges requiring placement of 325 loads of fill in the first 8 hours (one load every 90 seconds), reinstatement of the critical roadway slope and bridge end bent erosion protection systems, and Maintenance of Traffic (MOT), guardrail, signing, asphalt paving and roadway striping to ensure functionality and safety.
Work was completed in three (3) days, ahead of schedule. Prior to completion of the work, the only access was via air or water.
